Welcome to Week 2 of the Sacred Routine Challenge! This week, we move from awareness to action. We'll take everything we learned in Week 1—our intentions, our energy leaks, and our desire to shift our mindset—and begin to build simple, supportive rituals into our days. Our focus is not on creating a rigid, overwhelming schedule, but on weaving small, intentional moments into the fabric of your morning.
Think back to the three words you chose on Day 5 to describe how you want your mornings to feel. Whether it was "calm, clear, and energized" or "peaceful, purposeful, and joyful," today is about designing a small action that anchors you in that feeling. This is not about adding another item to your to-do list. It's about replacing a reactive habit with a sacred ritual—a moment that signals to your mind and body that the day is beginning with intention.
Your task for today is to choose just one small thing to do as your sacred morning start. This action should be simple, feel good, and be a moment of connection with yourself before the demands of the day take over.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Light a candle: The simple act of lighting a candle and watching the flame can be a beautiful, grounding moment of reflection. I love these candles, I bought them as gifts for a baby shower I hosted once. Stretch for 5 minutes: Gently move your body to wake up your muscles and release any tension from the night.
Drink a cup of water with intention: Instead of gulping it down, savor the cool, refreshing feeling as you hydrate your body. I love these glass water bottles, I’ve had really good luck with them. Write down one thing you are grateful for: A simple gratitude practice can instantly shift your mindset to a positive state.
Write a single page in your journal: Don't worry about perfection; just get your thoughts out. This journal even has a binder to keep it shut when you aren’t writing.
The key here is flexibility. Your sacred routine is not a strict schedule; it's a living practice. Your intuition can, and should, guide you. Maybe one morning, lighting a candle feels right, and another morning, a few gentle stretches feel like what your body truly needs. Listen to yourself. This isn't about doing the same thing every single day. It's about having a toolkit of small, intentional actions you can choose from to honor your morning.
Choose your one small action and commit to practicing it tomorrow morning. When you wake up, before you check your phone or dive into the chaos of the day, take a sacred pause to perform this simple ritual. This is the first step toward reclaiming your mornings and making your routines truly sacred.
