Day 21: Your Word for the Month
Welcome to Day 21, the final day of Week 3 of the Sacred Routine Challenge! This week, we've gone inward, exploring the difference between discipline and devotion, reflecting on our current habits, and reconnecting with our natural environment. As we prepare to move into our final week, we're going to use all this newfound awareness to create a powerful anchor for the rest of the month.

Words are powerful. They can focus our intentions, remind us of our values, and serve as a guiding light on our journey. Instead of creating another long list of to-dos, today's practice is to choose one single word that captures the essence of how you want September to feel. This word will become your touchstone, a simple reminder to bring a specific energy to your daily routine.

So, take a moment now. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask yourself: what is the one word that captures how I want September to feel?

Don’t overthink it. Let the first word that comes to mind be the one. Is it peace? Clarity? Joy? Presence? Ease? Growth? The word is a reflection of your deepest desires for the month ahead.

Once you have your word, write it down in your journal. Now, your task is to create a small, daily ritual around it. This is not another task to check off; it's a way to bring your word to life. The ritual should be something you can do for just a minute or two each day to connect with that feeling.

Here are some ideas based on potential words:
  • If your word is PEACE: Your ritual could be to take three deep, slow breaths before you open your laptop in the morning, focusing on a feeling of peace.
  • If your word is CLARITY: Your ritual might be to write down a single sentence of your intention for the day before you get started.
  • If your word is JOY: Your ritual could be to listen to one favorite song with your eyes closed, focusing only on the music and the feeling it brings you.
  • If your word is PRESENCE: Your ritual might be to notice the feeling of your feet on the floor every time you stand up, grounding you in the present moment.

This intentional living practice is about making your word tangible. It’s about more than just thinking it; it’s about feeling it and acting it out. By creating a small, daily sacred routine around your word, you are consistently reinforcing your desire and calling that feeling into your life.

This is the culmination of our work this week. You've gone inward to understand your needs, and now you're using that wisdom to intentionally shape your day. Your word and its corresponding ritual will be your compass as we move into Week 4, where we will focus on bringing all of our routines together into a holistic, sustainable practice.
