Day 22: Your One Non-Negotiable Ritual
Welcome to Week 4 of the Sacred Routine Challenge! We’ve come a long way. We began with awareness and mindset shifts, then moved into adding small, supportive rituals. Last week, we went inward with deeper journaling and reflection, gaining a clearer picture of what truly aligns with our values. Now, in this final week, we shift our focus to integration and embodiment—making these practices a nourishing and sustainable part of your lifestyle.

The goal isn't to create a perfect, rigid schedule, but to anchor at least one core habit that grounds you every day. Today’s task is to choose your non-negotiable ritual. This is the one practice you are committed to keeping, no matter what. It’s the ritual that brings you back to center, even on your most chaotic days.

Your non-negotiable ritual doesn't have to be a big, time-consuming commitment. In fact, a small, impactful one is often the most sustainable. It's not about the length of the practice, but the intention behind it. It’s a moment of sacred pause that you give to yourself, every single day.

For example:

  • A few minutes of conscious breathing: This can be done anywhere—in your car, at your desk, or before you get out of bed. It’s a simple way to regulate your nervous system and bring mindfulness to your day.
  • A single page of journaling: Your non-negotiable might be writing just one page in your journal. This is a powerful way to process your thoughts and set intentions.
  • Making your bed: The simple act of making your bed each morning is a powerful signal to your brain that you are starting your day with intention and order. It's a small win that sets a positive tone.
  • A 5-minute walk: Stepping outside for just a few minutes, rain or shine, to connect with the natural world can be an incredibly grounding practice.
Choose a practice that feels nourishing to you. Think back to the reflections you made last week. Which ritual felt the most like an act of devotion, rather than discipline? Which one brought you a sense of genuine joy and peace? Let that be your guide.

Once you’ve chosen your non-negotiable ritual, write it down (I am obsessed with colored pens for this). This is a commitment to yourself. This isn't about perfection; if you miss a day, it's not a failure. The point is the commitment to consistently return to it. This one intentional practice will become the foundation of your sacred routine, reminding you that your well-being is a priority.

Meet Sarah Sik

For so long, I was filled with anxiety.  My emotions were all over the place.

I am a military wife and mom of two boys.

Always needing to be braced for change filled me with so much stress and overwhelm.  My thoughts and feelings were running wild.  I felt like I was always fighting an uphill battle, and never gaining any traction.

Then, something magical happened and things started to change.

It was like walking into the most beautiful forest and seeing the sun shining down brightly on my face as I peeked up at the sky.

Suddenly, I started to take control and things just became clearer.
